Salem awards

Marwa Salem honored with two outstanding dissertation awards.

Congratulations to Marwa, the recent recipient of two awards for her dissertation. The Universities Council on Water Resources (UCOWR) selected Marwa’s dissertation as the first place recipient of the UCOWR 2017 Ph.D. Dissertation Award in the category of Water Policy and Socio-Economics.  A ceremony will be held in June at Colorado State University during UCORWR’s Awards Banquet.

Marwa was also one of two recipients to receive NCSU’s Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics 2017 Gerald A. Carlson Outstanding Ph.D. Dissertation Award. She was honored at an award ceremony in late March.

Currently a Senior Economist at RTI International, Marwa received her Ph.D. in Economics at NC State University in 2016, and was a CEnREP affiliate student.

Marwa’s dissertation committee was chaired by Roger von Haefen, CEnREP Associate Director and included CEnREP Affiliates Zack Brown and Laura Taylor, along with Kelly Zering, Professor in the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics.
