Dr. Taylor is a Professor of Agricultural and Resource Economics at NC State. Her research focuses on policy evaluation and the valuation of natural resources and the environment. Recent applications include improving benefits estimation for policies designed to reduce human mortality; examining household responses to price and non-price water conservation policies; and evaluating the impact of offshore wind energy on coastal tourism markets. Her research has received funding from a variety of sources including the USDA, the US Environmental Protection Agency and the National Science Foundation. She is president of the Association of Environmental and Resource Economists and a member of the Advisory Board for N.C. Sea Grant. Other recent service includes membership on the North Carolina Task Force for the Department of Interior’s Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, the US Environmental Protection Agency’s Science Advisory Board, and the NC Legislative Research Commission Advisory Subcommittee on Offshore Energy Exploration. She was also a recipient of the Aldo Leopold Leadership Fellowship and an American Council on Education Fellowship. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in environmental and natural resource economics.
