He has applied these tools to measure the benefits associated with nonpoint source pollution abatement, outdoor recreation and transportation services. His more recent research focuses on the effects of gasoline prices on fleet fuel economy as well as the demand for water and biofuels. Dr. von Haefen teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in environmental and natural resource economics, and graduate courses in applied econometrics.
